PROVIDING COUNSELING SERVICES IN SPANISH OR ENGLISH

What types of care do you provide, and what sets your care apart?
I am a bilingual mental health counselor who uses a dynamic and Cognitive Behavioral therapeutic approach to counseling. At KCHC, I have been offering mental health assessments and counseling to individuals who struggle with issues related to depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, ADHD, grief/loss, stress management, interpersonal relationship, mental health crisis, and life transitions. In addition to CBT, I also offer and draw from other therapeutic approaches, including Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Interpersonal Psychotherapy.

What is your patient care philosophy?
I believe in my client’s inherent ability to improve their well-being and overall functioning by integrating healthier behaviors, emotions, and relationships. From a strengths-based perspective, I aim to promote my clients’ resiliency and help them live more effective and meaningful lives.

What can patients look forward to when they visit you?
My goal is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental, and comfortable space where my clients can openly share their life challenges and receive empathetic, thought-provoking, and positive feedback about them.

What made you choose a healthcare career?
My career choice for becoming a mental health care provider comes from a strong desire to help others achieve a healthier version of themselves. I also hope to increase the availability of more culturally diverse and Spanish-speaking mental health services in the area.

I genuinely do not remember a time in my life when I was not planning on pursuing a career in healthcare! I was attracted to the positive and significant impact I saw healthcare providers have on my family members and the people around me, and I wanted to be a part of that.
