SALUD Y BIENESTAR | 1 de abril de 2026
Nphw Featured

National Public Health Week (NPHW) 2026 invites all Americans to renew their commitment to strengthening the systems, science, and community partnerships that keep us healthy.

From April 6–12, we join organizations across the country in recognizing the power of public health and the people who make it possible.

This year’s theme, Ready. Set. Action!, is both a celebration and a call to action. It encourages us to reflect on the progress we’ve made while taking meaningful steps toward a healthier future. One foundational truth guides it all: good health doesn’t just happen.

At Pillar Health and KCHC, we are proud to be part of that ongoing effort, working every day to improve lives across Southeast Wisconsin.

What We Do: Advancing Health for Every Community

Our mission is simple but powerful: your health, our mission.

As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we provide comprehensive, high-quality care to individuals and families regardless of their ability to pay. Through médicos, dentales, y servicios de salud conductual, we help ensure that everyone has access to the care they need to live healthier, fuller lives.

Public health is not just about treating illness. It is about building systems that support wellness, equity, and access at every level. That is the work we are committed to every day.

El papel de los FQHC en la salud pública

FQHCs are a cornerstone of the public health system. Nationwide, they serve more than 30 million people each year, expanding access to essential care in communities that need it most.

At Pillar Health and KCHC, our role in public health includes:

  • Preventing disease through immunizations, screenings, and education
  • Managing chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and asthma with personalized care plans
  • Responding to community needs with culturally competent, patient-centered care

Reducing barriers to care so cost, language, or circumstance do not stand in the way of health

This is what “Ready. Set. Action!” looks like in practice, meeting people where they are and moving health forward together.

How We Do It: Prevention, Access, and Connection

Health begins long before someone walks through our doors. It starts in our homes, schools, workplaces, and neighborhoods.

That’s why our approach focuses on:

  • Prevention to stop illness before it starts
  • Formación to empower informed health decisions
  • Access to ensure care is available when and where it’s needed

Our integrated care model brings medical, dental, and behavioral health services together in one place. This coordinated approach improves outcomes and strengthens the connection between patients and providers.

Ready. Set. Action! What It Means for Our Community

This year’s theme challenges all of us, providers, partners, and community members alike, to take action.

That can mean:

  • Scheduling a preventive screening
  • Staying up to date on vaccinations
  • Supporting policies that expand access to care
  • Recognizing and uplifting public health workers

Every action, no matter how small, contributes to a stronger, healthier community.
