CONOZCA LOS DATOS DE LA\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/heartdisease\/about.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CDC<\/a>:<\/h5>\n<p>El t\u00e9rmino \"cardiopat\u00eda\" hace referencia a varios tipos de afecciones cardiacas. El tipo m\u00e1s com\u00fan de cardiopat\u00eda en Estados Unidos es\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/heartdisease\/coronary_ad.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">enfermedad arterial coronaria<\/a>\u00a0(EAC), que afecta al flujo sangu\u00edneo que llega al coraz\u00f3n. Cada vez afectan m\u00e1s a los j\u00f3venes. Esto se debe en parte a que las afecciones que conducen a las cardiopat\u00edas se producen cada vez a edades m\u00e1s tempranas. Febrero es el Mes Americano del Coraz\u00f3n, el momento perfecto para conocer su riesgo de padecer una cardiopat\u00eda y las medidas que debe tomar ahora para ayudar a su coraz\u00f3n. Las cardiopat\u00edas -y las enfermedades que las provocan- pueden aparecer a cualquier edad. Los elevados \u00edndices de obesidad e hipertensi\u00f3n entre los m\u00e1s j\u00f3venes (de 35 a 64 a\u00f1os) los exponen al riesgo de padecer cardiopat\u00edas a edades m\u00e1s tempranas. Casi la mitad de los estadounidenses presentan al menos uno de los tres principales factores de riesgo de cardiopat\u00eda: hipertensi\u00f3n, hipercolesterolemia y tabaquismo.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-separator fusion-full-width-sep\" style=\"align-self: center;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;margin-top:20px;margin-bottom:0px;width:100%;\"><div class=\"fusion-separator-border sep-single sep-solid\" style=\"--awb-height:20px;--awb-amount:20px;border-color:var(--awb-color4);border-top-width:1px;\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-4\"><div class=\"vc_custom_1683730290311\">\n<div id=\"text-block-3\" class=\"mk-text-block\">\n<h5>\u00bfCU\u00c1LES SON LOS S\u00cdNTOMAS DE LAS CARDIOPAT\u00cdAS?<\/h5>\n<p>En ocasiones, las cardiopat\u00edas pueden ser \"silenciosas\" y no diagnosticarse hasta que la persona experimenta signos o s\u00edntomas de infarto, insuficiencia cardiaca o arritmia. Cuando se producen estos acontecimientos, los s\u00edntomas pueden incluir:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/heartdisease\/heart_attack.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Infarto de miocardio (ataque del coraz\u00f3n)<\/a>: Dolor o molestias en el pecho, dolor en la parte superior de la espalda o el cuello, indigesti\u00f3n, ardor de est\u00f3mago, n\u00e1useas o v\u00f3mitos, fatiga extrema, molestias en la parte superior del cuerpo, mareos y dificultad para respirar.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Arritmia: Sensaci\u00f3n de aleteo en el pecho (palpitaciones).<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/heartdisease\/heart_failure.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Insuficiencia cardiaca<\/a>: Dificultad para respirar, fatiga o hinchaz\u00f3n de las venas de los pies, tobillos, piernas, abdomen o cuello.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-separator fusion-full-width-sep\" style=\"align-self: center;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;margin-top:20px;margin-bottom:0px;width:100%;\"><div class=\"fusion-separator-border sep-single sep-solid\" style=\"--awb-height:20px;--awb-amount:20px;border-color:var(--awb-color4);border-top-width:1px;\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-5\"><div class=\"vc_custom_1683730290311\">\n<div id=\"text-block-3\" class=\"mk-text-block\">\n<h5><b>USTED PODR\u00cdA ESTAR EN PELIGRO<\/b><\/h5>\n<p>Muchas de las afecciones y comportamientos que exponen a las personas al riesgo de padecer cardiopat\u00edas est\u00e1n apareciendo a edades m\u00e1s tempranas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Hipertensi\u00f3n arterial.<\/b>\u00a0Millones de estadounidenses de todas las edades padecen hipertensi\u00f3n, entre ellos millones de personas de 40 y 50 a\u00f1os. Aproximadamente la mitad de las personas con hipertensi\u00f3n no la tienen controlada. Tener la tensi\u00f3n alta sin controlar es uno de los mayores riesgos de padecer cardiopat\u00edas y otras afecciones perjudiciales, como el ictus.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Colesterol alto.<\/b>\u00a0El colesterol alto puede aumentar el riesgo de padecer enfermedades cardiacas. La diabetes y\/o la obesidad, el tabaquismo, el consumo de alimentos poco saludables y la falta de actividad f\u00edsica pueden contribuir a unos niveles de colesterol poco saludables.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Fumar.\u00a0<\/b>M\u00e1s de 35 millones de adultos estadounidenses son fumadores y miles de j\u00f3venes empiezan a fumar cada d\u00eda. Fumar da\u00f1a los vasos sangu\u00edneos y puede provocar enfermedades cardiacas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Otras afecciones y comportamientos que afectan al riesgo de padecer enfermedades cardiacas son:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Obesidad.<\/b>\u00a0El sobrepeso es una carga para el coraz\u00f3n. M\u00e1s de 1 de cada 3 estadounidenses -y casi 1 de cada 6 ni\u00f1os y adolescentes de 2 a 19 a\u00f1os- padecen obesidad.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Diabetes<\/b>\u00a0provoca la acumulaci\u00f3n de az\u00facar en la sangre. Esto puede da\u00f1ar los vasos sangu\u00edneos y los nervios que ayudan a controlar el m\u00fasculo card\u00edaco. M\u00e1s de 1 de cada 10 personas en Estados Unidos tiene diabetes.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Inactividad f\u00edsica.<\/b>\u00a0Mantenerse f\u00edsicamente activo ayuda a mantener sanos el coraz\u00f3n y los vasos sangu\u00edneos. Solo 1 de cada 4 adultos cumple las directrices de actividad f\u00edsica de realizar 150 minutos de actividad de intensidad moderada a la semana.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Patrones alimentarios poco saludables.<\/b>\u00a0La mayor\u00eda de los estadounidenses, incluidos los ni\u00f1os, comen demasiado\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/salt\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sodio<\/a>\u00a0(sal), que aumenta la tensi\u00f3n arterial. Sustituir los alimentos ricos en sodio por frutas y verduras frescas puede ayudar a reducir la tensi\u00f3n arterial. S\u00f3lo 1 de cada 10 adultos consume suficiente fruta y verdura al d\u00eda.
